Sew What?

With Fall right around the corner, I thought I would go ahead and dust off my sewing machine in preparation for some new projects. I've been wanting to check out Whipstitch at their (relatively) new digs on the Westside. I walked in with no ideas and little inspiration for my next project. To my surprise, wild inspiration came rushing through me the moment I laid eyes on all the delicious materials. Whipstitch has an amazing selection of chic, playful, stunning and down right adorable material. The inspiration was so intense, I was overwhelmed. After spending over an hour in the hip Marietta Street storefront, I headed home armed with a new sewing book, written by Deborah Moebes, and some beautiful materials for my next project. Deborah's book, Stitch By Stitch, was written for the new and returning stitcher and from what I can tell, it's a great refresher--no matter your level of sewing experience. Definitely worth checking out! If you are looking for truly different, yet quality materials and notions, check out Whipstitch in West Midtown Atlanta. You will not be disappointed!
Visit Whipstitch at 1000 Marietta Street, Suite 102, Atlanta, GA 30318 404.897.1114
Not in Atlanta? No problem! You can purchase material from their website, powered by Etsy. (Ummm...where were we before the internet? I barely remember a world without it!) Check out their website at

Talk About a Revolution!

Last weekend, my husband and I dined at one of our favorite spots, Crepe Revolution. Even though Crepe Revolution isn't a new discovery for me, it might be for you, so I thought I would share. We've loved this place since they first opened in the Smyrna/Vinings' hip West Village back in 2009. The main thing that is so endearing about Crepe Revolution, besides it's mouth-watering menu, excellent customer service, and super cool ambiance,  is the fact that they treat you like family. This weekend was no exception. It's a sure bet that when dining at Crepe, you will meet at least one of the two owners, Neel or Rob. These two guys are truly a rare breed.  They both genuinely care about their customers and their dining experiences.  Chances are, when you return, they will call you by name and ask you how you've been. I don't know about you, but that just warms my heart!
Crepe Revolution offers a brunch, lunch and dinner menu that is sure to please. There is honestly something for everyone. The ingredients are always fresh and they even have some gluten-free dishes! All items are well priced, including their cocktails. Speaking of cocktails...the wine list is quite impressive and if you're looking for a good mimosa--this is your place.  The quaint patio is oh, so inviting and the perfect place to sip on a cocktail and watch folks flocking to the West Village. Some of my favorite menu items include the mimosa blush (perfect on a weekend morning!), the del mar omelette, the Athens crepe (relatively low in calories too!), the grilled romaine salad, the revolution club (which is big enough for my husband to eat half and take the other half home), the Thai chicken purses or the filet mignon. The list goes on and on...and don't even get me started on dessert...we could be here a while! Everything is absolutely delicious. Seriously. You can even create your own crepe if your heart desires.
I'd also like to let you know that these guys are invested in the community, big time. When Atlanta shut down last January during the snow and ice storm, Crepe Revolution was open. They were pretty much the only ones open in the West Village. I, for one, was extremely grateful for that, especially since it was slim pickin's at my house on day three of being home bound. Next time you are in the area, check out Crepe Revolution. I know you will love it!
Crepe Revolution is located in the West Village in Smyrna/Vinings near 285 and South Atlanta Road. 4600 West Village Place, Smyrna, GA 30080
Love wine tastings? They have that too! Check out their website for upcoming events including Battle of the Wines.

Hello, Retail Therapy!

Last weekend I indulged in some much needed retail therapy. While I was out and about, I popped in Hand in Pocket--one of many cute boutiques right in the heart of Smyrna/Vinings. Since I was short on time, I was in the market for accessories-a quick buy that would thrill me to no end! To my surprise, I discovered several affordable options, one of which just had to come home with me. Check out these sassy earrings that are sure to dress up any outfit! No sooner than I purchased them, I ran home, swept my hair up and adorned my lobes with these beauties. I had the pleasure of wearing them out Saturday night to an event I co-directed. I must say they were quite a hit, matching my shoes perfectly! Thanks, Hand in Pocket. Here's a shout out to you! You have just been crowned my new Go-To Place for last minute fashion steals!
Visit Hand In Pocket online at  or at 1675 Cumberland Pkwy., Suite 405, Smyrna, GA 30080

Midtown Restaurant Week is Coming!

Something I look forward to every year is Atlanta's Restaurant Weeks. It's a great opportunity to dine at that restaurant you've always wanted to try and at special discounted prices. This year's Midtown Restaurant Week is August 27-September 4. I was super excited to see the roster of participating restaurants. It's a great line up but I must say I am a little disappointed that some of my favorites, JCT Kitchen, Miller Union, etc., aren't participating this year. With that being said, I consulted with my husband and one of our favorite couples and we settled on Abittoir. I'm really looking forward to it as I've read so many great things about this restaurant. I will definitely let you know how it is. In the meantime, go ahead and make your reservations for Midtown Restaurant Week. Reservations fill up quickly and you don't want to miss it! Here's the link through OpenTable. Enjoy!

Welcome To My Blog!

Hi there! Thanks for stopping by. I thought I would take a break from my PR blog and start one about all the fun things in life. This blog is simply a place to share bits and pieces of my world and experiences involving interesting people, places and things. When I encounter an amazing find at a local boutique, a restaurant with a fabulous wine list and menu to die for, or a business with outstanding customer service, (and maybe a splurge or two that I just couldn't resist), I always want to tell everyone about it. Well now I will also blog about it. Opinions here are my own. Take them for what they are worth. Oh, and if you like what you see, feel free to follow me through google or subscribe via email over on your right. Thanks for reading. I hope you enjoy! :)
