Last weekend's coastal get away has me thinking of summer more than ever. Even though we returned to a city plagued by ridiculous chilly temps for this time of year (scratching my mosquito bites under my sweater just seems like a double negative!), I still have summertime on the brain. Because of that, I wanted to share with you a recipe my sweet Mama recently shared with me. No, not food this time, but a beverage. This oh-so refreshing beverage is delicious and it has a fun name...Sassy Water!
Sassy Water encompasses some of my favorite summer flavors and as an added benefit, it detoxifies your system and leaves you feeling light. I can't wait to pour it over some crushed ice on a hot summer day!
Ingredients:
8 1/2 cups of water
1 teaspoon grated ginger
1 medium cucumber, sliced thin
1 medium lemon, sliced thin
12 leaves of mint
Mix all ingredients together in a pitcher. Refrigerate overnight. Strain water. Enjoy!

Extra benefits: the cucumber and lemon are natural diuretics and the ginger and mint prevent bloating. Delicious, refreshing and it prevents bloat...I'll drink to that!
Give it a try and let me know what you think. Happy Tuesday, everyone. Have a great week! :)
Cheers!

I've seen this floating around Pinterest and keep wanting to try it!
