The first step I took was getting rid of a ton of stuff. I am fully applying the Quality vs. Quantity rule here. I've hauled so many bags to Goodwill, I think they cringe when they see me coming. The sad part is, I'm still purging. The next step is getting rid of bulky, clunky old hangers that take up too much space. I've slowly started picking up a pack of the clutter-free, slim line hangers every time I go to HomeGoods or TJ Maxx. I'm about half way done with this part and it's already making a difference!
The main challenge is that The Husband and I may not be in this space for more than a few more years and we really don't want to invest in something that we can't take with us (for example, a custom built closet). Any suggestions?
In the meantime, I'm still devising a plan for my end goal...a beautiful closet that even The Husband will enjoy stepping into. I thought I'd share some of my inspiration with you. All of which are not custom built...

Happy Thursday, Friends! I hope it's a good one!

I have the same problem! Don't want to invest a lot of money however really would like to have a much better organized and clutter free closet! Love your inspiration pictures!
ReplyDeleteSo I glanced at the first picture and thought that was your closet... I'm sure your closet makeover will just as good! Can't wait to see the final product and hear about your journey along the way.
ReplyDeleteHow smart hanging the boots! Going to give that a try!
ReplyDeleteI found a great set of hangers at Bed Bath & Beyond by Real Simple. $29.99 for 50 slimline velvet hangers with hooks. They come in black, stone & blue. If you save your BB&B coupons like I do, it's not a bad deal!
