Weekend Update : Heat Wave!

The heat wave was definitely the headline of the weekend. We broke all sorts of records here in the south and in Atlanta, we reached the highest temperature ever since records have been kept. Crazy, huh? When it is  this hot outside, there's nothing better to do than hang out in the pool. And that's exactly what we did.

Saturday morning I ran a few errands, hit the mall and the grocery all before noon. The mall and the grocery store were both slammed. I guess people were soaking up the conditioned air, compliments of the mall and Publix! By 10:30am, it was already 90 degrees. Ridiculous! I had something to return to Victoria's Secret and Sephora just happens to be right next door. So convenient. I popped in to grab a few things I was out of and stumbled upon the most amazing concealer. I already use a loose Bare Minerals concealer but have been looking for something a little more "serious" to couple with the loose concealer.

I love that it's a stick which allows me to use it on the go. It will fit just right in my new makeup bag for my purse! I couldn't resist this beauty... Yep. I treated myself!

After a little shopping, The Husband and I hit the pool. Since it was so hot, I thought it would be fun to sip on some refreshing wine spritzers poolside. I did a quick google search and found this recipe. It was indeed refreshing and delicious! I used a Sauvignon Blanc by Cupcake and S. Pellegrino-which has zero calories. Sweet! On Sunday, I used the same wine but tried it with Perrier Grapefruit sparkling water-also zero calories-instead of the S. Pellegrino and I think it was even better! 

We made the best of the insane heat and all in all, it was a great weekend. What did you do to keep cool this weekend? Cheers to 4th of July week!
