Weekend Update

Happy Monday! I must admit the last several days have been a blur. Between The Husband's surgery and being a bridesmaid, all the days are running together. His surgery and recovery has been much more than he anticipated. I tried to prep as much as I could but dang, I need a break! Because my world has been a little scattered lately, this post will be as well! Please bear with me...

With The Husband recovering, I have been cooking three meals a day. Let me just say, that's down right exhausting. Because his entire right arm is out of commission, he can do very little for himself. That means prepping three meals per day, everyday. And did I mention he's right handed?!?
Anyway, in an effort to cut wheat and gluten out of my diet lately, I've been adding quinoa as a side to many of our dinners. It's not only delicious but filling and loaded with protein. If you haven't tried it, I strongly recommend it. It's awesome!

As a bridesmaid, I was charged with making the rehearsal bridal bouquet from all the shower gift ribbons. Here's the finished product. Not sure I could duplicate it but I think it turned out well. The bride was pleased with it and therefore I was too!

After the bridesmaids' luncheon, the bride treated all of her girls to manicures and pedicures. I chose a light pink for my fingers and stepped out of the box and went with a dark color for my toes. This is OPI's Casino Royale. It went really well with our dresses!

I decided to do my own hair for the wedding. I went with a simple french twist. This isn't a great picture...I made my poor husband take the picture. Keep in mind he can only use one arm right now.

It's hard to tell in this picture but I added four decorative bobby pins
along the twist for a little something extra.

Our bouquets!

The wedding cake. It was beautiful! Can you see the bride and her dad dancing their father daughter dance in the background? I didn't even plan it that way...but pretty cool, huh?

The groom's cake. It was a reese cup cake made by a dear friend of the couple.
It was out of this world!

With two of the other bridesmaid's at the reception...

The Happy Couple making their exit!

And I made The Husband take one more pic once I got home, before retiring this bridesmaid dress...that is unless I cut it off to make a cocktail dress...thoughts?

{one very tired girl pictured above!}

Unfortunately, The Husband missed all of the wedding festivities due to his surgery and some minor complications/set backs. Therefore, my personal photographer was absent. :( Hopefully I can share more pictures courtesy of the wedding photographer later this week. Until then, that's all folks.

What did you do this weekend? Anything fun?
Have a great Monday!

I'm linking up with Join the Gossip, five30three and Sami's Shenanigans for the Weekend Update. Be sure to hop on over and catch up on everyone's weekend!

  2. So glad you were still able to enjoy your weekend even though the hubby was out of commission!! You always do amazing things with your hair, so envious! Beautiful bouquets and cake (love that pic with the bride and her Father dancing). I would definitely try to have your dress altered, it would look great for a holiday party with gold jewelry! Tell the hubby I hope he starts feeling better soon!
