Fashion Friday : Espadrilling!

Friday is finally here and you know what that means...another edition of Fashion Friday! Today I'm highlighting something that I have been on the "hunt" for over the last several weeks. As I've mentioned before, I'm a whopping 5'4 tall and because of that, my shoe collection consists mostly of heels. Every summer, I try to find a comfortable pair of espadrilles that will double as a staple for work and play. I tend to gravitate towards the metallics and neutrals when it comes to espadrilles because they go with just about anything. Last year, I scored some awesome espadrilles from Piper Lime but this year, I haven't been so lucky...until now...

Just when I thought I had missed the boat this season and everything was picked over, I conducted yet another search on all of my go-to sites. That's when I found these beauties by my beloved Michael Kors. At such a great price, the decision was easy. BUY THEM! I wear a size seven and the fact that these weren't sold out in my size was another sign to buy NOW! So, I did. :)

Did I mention they were on sale? They are regularly $140 but I found them for $77!

These babies are headed my way.
 Expected arrival date is Monday!

I found some others that were quite inticing along the way...

I might have to get these too. I just love them!
In the meantime, I will have to find a way to justify the purchase! :)

Which ones are your favorites? I will be sure to report back on my purchase. I can't wait for the shipment to arrive on Monday! Here's wishing you a fantastic weekend! :)

What I'm Reading...

Hi Friends! If you haven't already picked up your copy of domino's quick fixes magazine, run (don't walk) to your nearest magazine stand and pick it up! I was finally able to pick mine up yesterday and in less than 24 hours, my head is swimming with tricks and ideas I want to try. This special edition is bursting at the seams with easy and reasonable ideas for changing things up. I don't know about you but I like to spice things up at my abode from time to time. This magazine is one to keep!

So you don't look like a crazy person trying to find it (like I did!), here's what the cover looks like.

Happy Thursday, my friends! Only one more day until the weekend. I can hardly wait...

Introducing : The Covered Porch Designs

Today I'd like to introduce you to The Covered Porch Designs. I first discovered Jenn and The Covered Porch Designs while reading one of my favorite blogs, Simply Sarah Style. I hopped on over to Jenn's site only to fall in love with her designs. She offers a wide variety of adorable stationary, invitations, gift tags, pillows and more...all of which are personalized and upcycled. Her prices are very reasonable and if you want something that you don't see, she's willing to create it! It doesn't get better than that!

I told Jenn a little about myself and here's a little sample of what she sent me. I love the detailing on the envelopes as well as the corners of the note cards. So unique!

More of Jenn's creations...

Jenn also offers a very generous blogger special. Check it out {here}.

A very special thanks to Jenn for sending me such adorable and unique stationary. It's so nice to meet another Georgia Peach! :)

Have a great Wednesday, Everyone!

Be Sassy!

Hi Friends! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. The Husband and I took Friday off and headed to Coastal Georgia for a relaxing weekend with family. It was so nice to enjoy some time with family and time away from the city. Growing up on the coast, I took the peace and quiet for granted. Having been away for thirteen years now, I realize what a blessing it is. Here's hoping we can get back down there for good someday.

Last weekend's coastal get away has me thinking of summer more than ever. Even though we returned to a city plagued by ridiculous chilly temps for this time of year (scratching my mosquito bites under my sweater just seems like a double negative!), I still have summertime on the brain. Because of that, I wanted to share with you a recipe my sweet Mama recently shared with me. No, not food this time, but a beverage. This oh-so refreshing beverage is delicious and it has a fun name...Sassy Water!

Sassy Water encompasses some of my favorite summer flavors and as an added benefit, it detoxifies your system and leaves you feeling light. I can't wait to pour it over some crushed ice on a hot summer day!

Ingredients:
8 1/2 cups of water
1 teaspoon grated ginger
1 medium cucumber, sliced thin
1 medium lemon, sliced thin
12 leaves of mint

Mix all ingredients together in a pitcher. Refrigerate overnight. Strain water. Enjoy!

{via}

Extra benefits: the cucumber and lemon are natural diuretics and the ginger and mint prevent bloating. Delicious, refreshing and it prevents bloat...I'll drink to that!

Give it a try and let me know what you think. Happy Tuesday, everyone. Have a great week! :)

Cheers!

Fashion Friday : Beach Bums

Hi Friends! I can't believe it's Friday already. I apologize for the lack of posts this week. I've been so busy with social function after social function! Just this week, I've had two birthday parties and a going away party, all within three nights. It's definitely been an emotional roller coaster of a week to say the least. Birthdays are always fun but Goodbyes are never easy. With that being said, what's a girl to do? Retail therapy, anyone? It always works for me!

The Husband and I are headed to the coast this weekend and I definitely have beach, sun and sand on the brain. Therefore, today's Fashion Friday post features stylish swimsuit cover ups. Who's getting excited for Summertime? I sure am! Check out these beauties...

{Trina Turk}
I love the vibrant blue color!

{Trina Turk}
I love the cut on this coverup. The sash is great!

{Ella Moss}
Loving the color on this one and the fact that it's crochet!

{Steve Madden}
Colorful Print!

{Milly}
Hello Chevron!
This one is a bit of a budget buster but I still love it!

{Milly}
Again, a budget buster but I had to include it.
I'm a pushover for crochet!

It's a tough call but I think the white crochet cover up by Milly and the aqua crochet cover up by Ella Moss are my favorites. Do you have a favorite?

Friday Shout Out: If you haven't already "liked" the Social Sara Facebook Page, I'd love it if you would hop on over and do so. I've got some fun giveaways in the works and you don't want to miss out on the details! Click here to find Social Sara on Facebook!

Have a great weekend, everyone! :)

Weekend Round Up

Hi Friends! I hope y'all had a great weekend! As usual, our weekend went by entirely too quick but nevertheless, it was awesome. The Husband's birthday was Friday and all he wanted was a nice dinner at one of our favorite restaurants. Thankfully, I was able to score a reservation and off we went to indulge in some delicious cuisine. Here's a quick picture of our dessert. It was called the "twix bar." It was divine!

Saturday rolled around and after an extended lunch with friends, I was able to swing by a much anticipated book signing event. Courtney Dial (soon to be Whitmore) signed her new book Push-up Pops at Swoozie's in Buckhead. You may know Courtney from her wildly successful website and blog, Pizzazzerie. I've been following her on twitter for years and as an aspiring entrepreneur myself, she has been such an inspiration to me. It was great to finally meet her. She was so delightful and I can't wait to make some of her Push-up Pops!

Sunday brought beautiful weather and the perfect day for a baseball game. Friday was opening day for my beloved Atlanta Braves and The Husband and I were full of baseball fever. We took in a Sunday afternoon game with some friends and our seats were AWESOME! Beautiful weather, baseball and beer...it doesn't get much better than that! After the game, we posted up on the couch and caught a movie. Ahhhh. Much needed rest!

It was a delightful yet busy weekend. What did you do this past weekend?

I'm linking up with Hayley over at The Weekend File for a series called Life Lately. Be sure to stop by her blog and say hello!

Fashion Friday-Watch Yourself!

Happy Fashion Friday! Today I'm featuring one of my favorite accessories, watches. A watch is an absolute useful and purposeful accessory. I'm sort of a freak about knowing what time it is, at all times. I feel extremely lost without one on my wrist. Not to mention, I'm a total pushover for a smart looking watch. To me, it is a sign of sophistication and polish. Would you agree?

It's no secret that I'm a huge Michael Kors fan, especially his watches. What can I say? The man designs sharp watches. I absolutely love my everyday watch by Michael {found here} but I've been scouting out a fun, yet sophisticated watch for the summer. Here are a few I'm considering...

I love the sleekness and versatility of this one.

What do you think about the Rose Gold? I think it would look great against sun kissed skin!

I've always loved this classic white Toy Watch.

This one is so pretty!

Another pretty, colorful option...

Which one is your favorite?

I hope you all have a wonderful Friday and a fabulous weekend!

*Side Note: Today is The Husband's Birthday so I'd like to wish the BEST husband a girl could ask for the very BEST birthday, ever! Cheers! :)

Oh, Oh, domino!

Anyone remember domino magazine? I loved that magazine and was heartbroken when it went out of print. I always gathered such wonderful inspiration for my interiors from domino. I am itching to make some changes in our current space (more on that later...) and the first purchase I'm making is this great decorating book by domino.

I believe I may have owned it before, at one point in time, however, I have no idea where it is and therefore, I'm re-adding it to my collection. It just so happens that One Kings Lane has it on sale this week. Snap up your copy before they are gone and let the inspiration begin!

{via}

Don't know about One Kings Lane yet? Click {here} for your invitation. They give you $15 to spend just for signing up!

Happy Decorating!

Side Note: In case you were wondering...yes, the title of this post was totally inspired by one of my favorite artists and songs... Van Morrison's Domino. Love that song! :)

Flat-tastic!

Happy Wednesday, Readers! I'm so thankful this week is speeding along. Soon it will be the weekend again. Yay! This lovely spring weather has inspired me to do a little spring cleaning. I've spent the last few days ridding my closet of clothes and shoes I no longer wear. This project is far from complete but being the planner I am, I'm already staking out some replacements.

My current shoe collection is full of high heels. At a boasting five feet and four inches, I have to compensate somehow! But, there are some days that just call for flats. There are some fantastic flats out right now and I fully intend on adding a few to my collection.

Here are a few of my favorites...

Definitely a neutral staple.
{Tory Burch Miller Flat}

Not totally flat but still love these!
{Lilly Pulitzer Good as Gold}

A weekend regular.
{Banana Republic McKenna Sandal}

Talk about a pop of color!
{DV by Dolce Vita Archer Flats}

I am loving these colors! Sure to go with many summer outfits.

Do you have any favorites right now? Please share!
Have a great Wednesday! :)

Easter OOTD

Hi Lovely Readers! Can you believe that the Easter weekend went by so fast? My favorite holiday has come and gone so quickly. Sad face.

Because Easter is my very favorite holiday, I treat myself to a new Easter dress every year. I try to choose a nice dress that can of course be repeated at church and at work. This year I found the perfect dress by happenstance. A few weeks ago, I was shopping for a new suit for work and started my search at Banana Republic. Not only did I find a sharp skirt suit for work {mentioned here}, I also stumbled upon this beauty from the Banana Republic Mad Men line. I tried it on and just had to have it! The A-line cut is typical of the Mad Men era and absolutely perfect for my pear shaped body. The material is delicate and feminine and the color screams "spring!" I'm a push over for a V-neck and this sweet dress features a V-neck in the front and back...double score!

{via}

I paired it with my newly purchased Guess patented pumps {similar} that just so happened to match perfectly! To follow, I styled it with a coordinating necklace {similar} from Fab'rik (a local boutique in Atlanta with multiple locations and an online store), a gold cuff-not shown- {similar} from Francesca's (another local boutique in Atlanta), pearl earrings, Michael Kors watch {here} and since it was a bit chilly on Easter morn, I topped it off with a sweet white ruffle shrug from White House Black Market {similar}.
Here's my look:

I didn't think to get any pictures of just me and yes, we were sporting our sunglasses because we were so happy to see the sun shining! Similar Ray Bans {here}.

I love that this dress found me! No searching high and low this year, which always makes me happy. I can't wait to wear it again!

What did you wear this Easter? I'd love to hear!

Happy Easter!

Wishing you and yours a very Happy Easter! He is Risen and I am so very grateful!

The Husband and I enjoyed a lovely Easter weekend back home in Savannah. The weather was beautiful and the time spent with family and friends was so precious. Easter is my favorite holiday of all time and this Easter was no different. I hope your Easter was just as beautiful and special!

From my family to yours, Happy Easter! As always, thank you for reading. I am truly honored.

Happy Good Friday + My First Fashion Friday

Hi Friends! Happy Good Friday! I can't tell you how excited I am that Good Friday is finally here. You see, Easter is my very favorite holiday of all time. It always has been since I was a little girl and it always will be. I just adore Easter and the meaning of it. As a Christian, this holiday is so special to me, I can't really put it into words. After work, the Husband and I will be heading to Savannah to be with my family for the weekend. I cannot wait! We are sure to have a spectacular Easter celebration!

As part of a new series, Fashion Friday, I thought I would bring you a post on one of my favorite accessories...clutches. I used to be that girl who would switch out her handbag for nearly every outfit but as I've grown older wiser, I've learned that sometimes, it's not worth it on a daily basis. I have my standard handbag that I use pretty much all the time and when I feel the need to change things up, I opt for a clutch. Clutches are perfect for me because I just take what I need out of my primary handbag and put it in the clutch. When I'm done using the clutch, I just do the reverse. This eliminates all the back and forth of everything in my bag. I like to think of clutches as an annex to my main bag.

This season brings colorful and unique clutches that are just too beautiful to pass up. I really wanted to find one to compliment my Easter dress but I simply ran out of time. Here are a few that I am currently swooning over...

{Tory Burch Rattan Clutch}
So classic and goes with mostly everything!

{Cole Haan}
Love the color!

{Kate Spade All Aboard Clutch}
My coastal roots just couldn't resist this beauty!
How unique!

{Banana Republic Shell Clutch}
Again, my nautical heart strings are being tugged on for this one!

{Rebecca Minkoff}
Beautiful color!

{Kate Spade Cherry Valley Kyra Clutch}
Totally digging the electric green!

There are so many great clutches out there! This is merely a sampling. Do you have a favorite? I'd love to hear!

Here's wishing you a wonderful Easter weekend. What are your Easter plans? Any fun traditions?
