Summertime and the Livin' Is Easy . . .

Happy Friday, my friends! I am so looking forward to this holiday weekend. I need the break! Labor Day was today's theme for Fashion Friday. Here's the outfit I put together for a Labor Day Soiree...

dress / clutch / necklace / earrings / wedges

I had to go with a white eyelet dress since Labor Day is the unspoken cut off for wearing white here in the South. Some think that's an old fashion rule (and I sort of agree)
but I have a hard time breaking it.

As you know, pink and green are two of my favorite colors and both are quintessential summer.
With that in mind, a big juicy slice of watermelon was my muse for today's outfit.
Cotton eyelet is cool for summertime temperatures and these colorful wedges (which I love! why didn't I find these puppies back in May? Sad.) will provide a stable, confident step and prevent heels digging from into the earth.

This Kate Spade necklace is definitely a splurge but a statement piece that's worth the investment.
Demure earrings and a colorful clutch put the finishing touches on this sweet outfit.
I envision myself wearing this darling get-up to a Labor Day Soiree on the bluff at the coast.
Maybe if I close my eyes tight enough, I can teleport myself there right now...

So what do you think? Would you wear this to a Labor Day function?
Are you loving these wedges as much as I am?
Big plans this Labor Day weekend?

We are headed to an out of town wedding this weekend and
I can't wait to share the pictures with you.
This wedding isn't just any wedding...it's a themed wedding.
The Husband and I will be decked out in our best 1920's attire and good times are sure to be had!
Check back on Tuesday (not Monday) for the Weekend Update.
Until then, enjoy your Labor Day Weekend, my lovelies!
Be safe and enjoy yourself.
Cheers!

I Wandered to C .Wonder...

Yesterday after work, I had the pleasure of meeting the store of my dreams, C. Wonder. The Atlanta store opened just a few short days ago and I couldn't get there fast enough. I've read about this retail phenomenon and let me just tell you, it did not disappoint. As I walked through the doors, I knew I wouldn't be able to absorb all the fabulousness this store had to offer on the first visit {cue a full blown Rebecca Bloomwood moment}. I didn't have nearly enough time but, you better believe I will be back soon, very soon. Trust.

At the risk of looking like a crazy person, I snapped a few pics to share with you. Soak it in...

This is just the tip of the iceberg, my friends!

I am swooning over this ikat china! Navy and white with a touch of gold...
be still my beating heart! I must have a piece or two or three...
Clothing and accessories galore! Oh My!

Gorgeous jewels!

C.Wonder offers everything a girl could dream of under one brilliantly decorated roof. Clothing, jewelry, shoes, home decor, stationary, accessories, and even something for the sweet pets in your life...C. Wonder has it all. Expensive you think? That's the best part...it's not! Price points here are reasonable and the merchandise is quality. And did I mention how delightful the staff is? They offered me lemonade, water and even candy. How awesome is that? I met some darling C. Wonder ladies who assisted me while shopping. Can you believe one of them grew up just miles from my little coastal town back home? Love it! This was a great experience from head to toe and by far the highlight of my week. I can't wait to go back!

With locations in New York, California, New Jersey and Massachusetts, this was quite a win for Atlanta! Thank you, Mr. Burch. I am totally smitten!

So wander no more my friends, make a bee line to this 8th wonder {of the retail world}!
Oh and you know I couldn't walk out empty handed...that would have just been rude!

Well ladies, if C. Wonder isn't enough to make you smile, it's Friday Eve and that's definitely something to smile about! Cheers! :)

Rain, Rain Go Away!

Hi Friends! I apologize for not posting yesterday. I have been dealing with a painful eye infection the last few days. Staring at the computer seemed to make it worse so I decided to take a break yesterday.

Thanks to Hurricane Isaac, it's been raining like crazy here. The outer rain bands stretched all the way out to North Georgia and as a result, it's been raining non stop. Because I find inspiration in all sorts of places, including the weather, I thought I would capitalize and bring you a post on Rainwear. Random but practical, right?!? Here are some stormy weather essentials that are cute and practical for each occasion.

I love the fun red raincoat...definitely a bright spot on a rainy day. And I love that bubble umbrella. I've always wanted one of those! The trench raincoat is perfect for scooting across town for that business meeting. This trench also features a hood, which is essential for me. Who wants to arrive looking like a wet rat? Not this girl! I paired it with a fun umbrella for a little bit of "sunshine" for this grey outfit. I'm also crushing on the wedge Hunter rain boots above. Professional yet practical. I can't stand for my feet to get wet when I'm out and about.
I've enjoyed my casual rain boots immensely but these are perfect for work.
If this rain keeps up, I might have to treat myself to these!

So what do you think? Do you invest in rainwear? Is it worth it?

My thoughts and prayers go out to those in Isaac's path. Hopefully the destruction won't be severe.
I will gladly take our rainy conditions, any day, all day.

Here's wishing you a happy, and dry Wednesday! We are one step closer to the weekend, my friends.
Cheers to that! :)

Weekend Update

Hi Friends! I feel like I blinked my eyes and the weekend was over. So sad! Too bad we can't fast forward to the holiday weekend. Here's hoping this week flies by. First of all, I want to say welcome to all the new followers! Y'all Rock! Thank you so much for following along. It means more than you know! Also, did you see my feature on Sami's Shenanigans? Pretty cool! :)

This weekend was pretty much the norm for a summer weekend. Friday night we tried a new Mexican restaurant and it might just be our new favorite. It was so good! Here's a peek at our appetizers...

Saturday was spent running errands (and shopping!) and hanging out by the pool. Can you believe The Husband agreed to go to the mall and Ulta with me? I guess I'm still riding the Birthday wave! Hey, I'll take it! New makeup, even restocking, makes this girl so happy! :)

It was such a great pool day. Low humidity and lots of sun. There are never enough days like this.
I may have indulged in a few of these while soaking up some much needed rays...

Saturday night I had to leave The Husband at home while I attended a bachelorette party here in town. One of my dear friend's sister is getting married and I was invited to tag along. Remember waaaayyy back in January when I told you about their New Year's Eve engagement? Well, the wedding is almost here (next weekend)! I had a blast with these ladies but let me just say, I cannot party like I used to! Sad, but true. Since all things that happen at a bachelorette party must remain secret, here's the one and only picture I snapped...

It was such a fun night. I rarely see these girls so there was lots of catching up to be done.
We even had our own koozies! Christy and Lisa did such a fantastic job with all the planning.
A great time was had by all!

Sunday morning we attended church and then lunch with some new friends. Afterwards, we hit the pool. It was such a pretty day here yesterday, we just couldn't resist. We totally abandoned our dirty laundry and weekly grocery store trip to soak up the last bit of sunshine for the weekend. It was glorious! And with the blink of an eye, it was Monday.

So there you have our weekend. Nothing too exciting but definitely not boring.
What did you do this weekend? I'd love to hear!

Fashion Friday : Ease On Down The Road

Happy Friday, my friends! Today's Fashion Friday theme is something I have a lot of experience with, Road Trips. Since moving away from my sweet family and beloved town of Savannah, I have spent many weekends traveling back and forth to visit, especially during the summer time! Here is the outfit I put together for a casual Road Trip....

Sunnies / Tank / Sandals / Crossbody Bag / Necklace / Maxi Skirt

If there's one thing I've learned throughout all my travel, it's the importance of comfort. If you are bound by uncomfortable clothes, it's going to make for a miserable ride in a car or a plane for that matter. The Husband is hot natured and usually freezes me out in the car, year round. I've been known to keep a blanket in the trunk at all times!
With that being said, I picked a maxi skirt for the main focus of this outfit.

I actually just purchased this skirt from WHBM a few weeks ago when it went on sale. I haven't worn it yet (I'm thinking of getting it hemmed. It's a little long for this short girl!), so styling it for today's post was extra fun!

I paired this trendy skirt with a royal blue tank, a long silver necklace, Tory Burch flat sandals and for a pop of color, a hot pink crossbody...perfect for quick stops and getting in and out of the car with ease. I see this outfit as being very comfortable yet stylish at the same time.
It doesn't get any better than that! Right?

What do you think? Would you wear this? Any Road Trips planned for the end of Summer?
I'd love to hear!

Cheers to the weekend, dolls! I hope it's a good one! :)

What I Wore + Thank You!

Hi Friends and Happy Friday Eve! It's hard to believe my birthday has come and gone but it was fabulous, nonetheless...and the party isn't over! I plan on celebrating right on through the end of the month but, I promise this will be my last post about my birthday! I have to say, all this celebrating hasn't allowed much time for blogging so, today I thought I would bring you an outfit post featuring what I wore on my birthday.

I saw this dress at Fab'rik and had to snap it up. I love the cut and the color was perfect. Not to mention, I adore flutter sleeves. So sweet and feminine. I just couldn't resist them! They also had this dress in black and I may or may not have purchased one of each. (Stay tuned...)

I planned on pairing this dress with a long tiered necklace however, about an hour before we left for dinner, I checked my mailbox only to find a gorgeous birthday surprise! My blog friend, Andrea, sent me a birthday care package all the way from Texas and inside was the sweetest card and this beautiful necklace! I thought it was the perfect contrasting piece for my green dress. I have no accessories in this color...until now...and look forward to pairing it with other outfits in my closet. Yay!

Here's my outfit and accessories...

I wore my favorite MK nude sandals, a cuff bracelet and subtle earrings, both from Francesca's, along with my new necklace, also from Francesca's. What do you think? Do you like the contrasting necklace with the green dress?

We went to dinner at one of our favorite places right around the corner. I had the seafood entree which was PEI Mussels in a ginger beer broth, giving them a really unique flavor. I know you aren't surprised that I ordered the mussels! I can't even begin to tell you how good they were! Mmmmmmm...

For dessert we shared a Rocky Road Whoopie Pie. I didn't capture a picture but I can tell you it was the perfect birthday dessert!

It was a lovely birthday indeed and I am so thankful for all of your blog comments/mentions, Facebook shoutouts and sweet emails wishing me a Happy Birthday. It means the world to me and I can't thank you enough! Cheers to another year of blessings, surprises and lots of love! XOXO! :)

It's My Birthday!

Hey Friends! Well, if you've been reading the last few posts, you know that today is my birthday! It's finally here! I'm off enjoying cupcakes and sunshine so here are a few pictures from my BIG Birthday Bash last year. It was tons of fun and I can't believe it's been a year! I hope you have a fabulous Tuesday!

I am so grateful for this past year and all the blessings God has bestowed upon me. God is so good! :)
Cheers to another great year!

Weekend Update

Hi Friends! Can you believe the weekend is over? Geez...seems like it was just Friday! The Husband and I enjoyed a lovely weekend. He spoiled me with lots of fun treats for my upcoming birthday. Here's a look at our weekend a la instagram...

After work on Friday, I made a much needed stop to the nail salon for a mani/pedi. I am loving these colors!

OPI "If You Moust, You Moust" and "Pinking of You"

Friday night we went to dinner at one of our favorite sushi places within walking distance of our home. So good!

My nautical to-go cup for our walk to the sushi restaurant!

Saturday morning we indulged in Swedish Massages followed by a nice brunch and an afternoon spent by the pool.

Saturday night we went to dinner at one of my favorite new Atlanta restaurants. You may remember me telling you about it {here}. Once again it was phenomenal! We forgot to take pictures of our entrees but here are some pics of our appetizers. This was our second round of oysters!

East Coast Oysters!

Charred Octopus with local citrus...Amazing!

Oh and remember that Lilly box I received and told you about {here}? Well, it was my birthday dress! Here's a bad iphone pic but you get the idea. I accessorized with my gold monogram necklace, rhinestone hoop earrings and mixed bangles. I paired it with gold high heel sandals and a cream and gold Michael Kors clutch. I really enjoyed wearing this dress and can't wait to wear it again! Next time, I will get a better pic...

It's navy and nautical so you know I had to have it!
The Mayfield Dress by Lilly Pulitzer. -now on sale at Saks!

Sunday we heard a great message at church, followed by an excellent brunch and then home for some relaxing. It rained a little here and there and we enjoyed the downtime. I have officially caught up on all my celebrity gossip (thank you US Weekly!) and a little blog reading.

It was a great weekend and I look forward to more celebrating this week. My birthday is tomorrow and I plan on eating a cupcake or two!

How was your weekend? Jam packed or relaxing? I'd love to hear!

Fashion Friday : Sunset Inspiration

Happy Friday! Ahhh, I thought today would never come. This has been an incredibly busy week and I won't be able to rest until after 5 o'clock this afternoon when my birthday weekend begins! I hope to sit down, put my feet up and sip on some wine, for starters. I'm officially counting the hours...

Without further ado, it's time for Fashion Friday. Today's theme is Summer Sunset. I have always loved sunsets and twilight. The Husband proposed to me at twilight and since then it has been my favorite time of day. Here's the outfit I put together for a perfect date starting with a summer sunset...

dress / clutchbracelet / sunniesearringsshoes /

I couldn't resist a little color blocking with two of my favorite colors: pink and coral. I love this high-low dress which is perfect for a romantic summer date night. Take note of the embellished neckline. Striking and delicate at the same time. Love! I see myself wearing this while The Husband and I watch the sunset and sip on a cool refreshing summer cocktail. Ah, I need a vacation!

What about you? Would you wear this for a summer sunset date?
Are you loving the high-low trend?

Cheers to the weekend, my friends! I'm kick starting my birthday celebration tonight and I plan on celebrating right on through the end of the month! :)
