Fashion Friday : Channeling Me

Hi Friends and Happy Friday! Ahhh, the weekend is here at last. I hope to finish my Christmas decorating and spend some time with The Husband. What about you? Any big plans?
 Today's Fashion Friday post is all about channeling the inner you. Here's an outfit I put together that I know my friends would say...

First things first...I will choose a dress over any other outfit combo any time, any day. If it's an A-line dress, even better. Some people would say that black is typical or even boring but I see it as a blank canvas; a blank canvas that you can dress up however you like. Add some color or stick to pearls. Either way, black is so versatile. To further the blank canvas, I paired this dress with these Valentino pumps that I have been crushing on since the first day we met in person at Saks. 

Pink and turquoise are two of my fave colors and I love pairing them up together. Great colors year round in my opinion. Last but not least, the starfish earrings. A nod to my home. My home and the sea are always on my mind so naturally, I just love anything nautical. 

There you have it, an Oh-So Me outfit.

Happy Friday Eve, friends! A few months ago, I was asked by Williams Sonoma to participate in a focus group for their new, soon to launch brand. Now, I've spent more coin than I should at Williams Sonoma, Pottery Barn and West Elm so when they offered me a gift card in return, I was delighted to participate! One of the main things I voiced during the focus group was how awesome it would be to have monogramming included in the price. It would be great to have an all-inclusive price, right? I mean, it's sort of a bummer when you want something monogrammed only to find that it's an additional charge on top of the regular price. I'm sure I wasn't the only one who voiced that but I was more than pleased to see that this new brand includes personalization on all items and free shipping over $49. Pretty awesome, huh?!?

I've mentioned a time or two that I have been wheat and gluten free for the last few months. I can't tell you how much better I feel! I've found some new favorite food items and
these cookies are at the top of that list. They are ah-mazing!  

I found these at my local health food store but it looks like Wholefoods carries them as well.

I didn't do any Black Friday or Cyber Monday shopping. I'm generally more of a Cyber Monday girl anyway but this year it just seemed too overwhelming. My inbox was inundated on the hour, every hour with deals and steals emails. There was no way I was going through all of those emails so I took the easy way out and deleted every single one. It felt so good! I did however purchase these beauties for myself yesterday. I can't wait for them to arrive!

Weekend Update

Thanksgiving came and went way too fast! Yesterday I had the regular Monday Blues plus a heaping dose of post holiday vacation blues on top. Not fun but on the bright side, we are just a few short weeks from Christmas and that means more family time! Here's a sneak peek of what our Thanksgiving looked like this year. It was low key but very restful. I tried to take a break from blogging and social media. I can't say that I was 100% successful but I definitely scaled back!

Thursday we had a delicious Thanksgiving meal. I refrained from taking any pictures (shocking, I know) so as to really take it all in and enjoy spending time with the fam. 

Friday we relaxed around the house, hung out in our PJ's and noshed on left overs. It was glorious! No hairspray, no make up, no jewels...just hanging out comfortably. You can't buy days like this but if you could, you better believe I would spend every last dime on them! 

Saturday my mom boiled some shrimp to make oyster and shrimp stew. The Husband had fun with the new camera and snapped a few pics of the before and after boiling...

The weather was absolutely beautiful! 

Saturday night we went to an oyster roast with family and then out for drinks. 

The perfect ending to a great weekend. I had the pomegranate margarita, a new favorite!

Sunday we took a few more pics with the new camera and then made our way back to Atlanta. 

Just before we left, my mom picked this orange from their orange tree. She and my Dad worked so hard on their orange tree this year and it certainly paid off. This was one delicious orange!

And we took one last picture! Actually, we took a lot but I'm gonna save a few for future posts...

There you have it, a laid back coastal Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving Attire : Up or Down?

Happy Thanksgiving Eve! Wow...can you believe Thanksgiving is already here? Crazy how this year is flying by. It's always interesting to hear how different people celebrate Thanksgiving. The first thing that usually pops in my head is "what should I wear?". Below are two different outfits I put together for Thanksgiving dinner. We tend to dress a little casual for our gathering. What about you?

Any favorites here? I love both looks but with all the traveling and visiting, I would probably go with the more casual look. We are headed to home to Savannah and I can't get there fast enough!

Weekend Update

Hi Friends and Happy Tuesday! I'm sorry I missed you yesterday. Everyone loves a short week but unfortunately, it still means the same amount of work in a shorter amount of time. With that said, we had a lovely weekend with no plans, no agenda, just us. Here's a recap in pictures...

Friday night we went to dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, JCT Kitchen. If you've been around here for any length of time, you know about my obsession with the Angry Mussels. It had been awhile and was due time for my fix!

We ate this:

 For my entree, I had the spanish mackerel.

 And The Husband had the chicken and dumplings.

So cozy and soft, I'm in love with it! I'm tempted to get it in another color...

Saturday we ran a few errands and relaxed a bit. Saturday night we went to a favorite taco joint and on the recommendation of fellow blogger, Nicole, I tried the  Pomegranate Margarita. It was delish! I can't  believe I haven't had it before. It's my new favorite!

Sunday we went to church and had lunch with some friends afterwards. 

I wore these shoes. A favorite pair this time of year! 

A TJ Maxx find several years ago. They really jazzed up these cream wool pants!

Before we knew it, the weekend was coming to a close. Monday definitely rolled around too fast. 

At least this is a short week!

Fashion Friday : Autumn Inspiration

Happy Friday, my friends! Friday is finally here and I hope to hit the repeat button, treating myself to another agenda-less weekend. With autumn coming to an end in the next few weeks and winter on our doorstep, today's Fashion Friday theme is all about autumn favorites. I absolutely adore pumpkin spice lattes so my inspiration for this post was a no brainer.

When I saw this dress, it just screamed autumn. I pulled out the orange in the dress by pairing it with a fun necklace that reminded me of fall mums. I chose a lighter boot color to accent the marigold flowers in the dress and some neutral gold hoops that are fun all on their own. 

To top it off, (don't kill me but...) I just had to select this beautiful YSL bag. 

The color and structure of this bag was just too perfect not to include.

I can picture myself wearing this outfit while sipping on a nice pumpkin spice latte.
