Mad Men Inspired Cocktails

It's no secret that I love Mad Men. And when my blog buddy, Nicole, decided to do a whole week dedicated to Cocktails, I was all in! Below are a few cocktails re-inspired by none other than Don Draper and Co. Cheers!

What You Need:

2 oz whiskey
1/2 oz sweet vermouth
1 dash bitters
1 cup ice cubes
1 maraschino cherry for a garnish

Mix It:
Place ice in a mixing glass. Pour in vermouth, then whiskey, and stir. Strain into a cocktail glass.
Ad a dash of bitters {if desired}, and garnish with a cherry.
Cheers!

What You Need:

1 Sugar Cube
3 Dashes Bitters
Club Soda
2 oz rye Whiskey
Orange Peel

Mix It:

Place sugar cube in an Old Fashioned glass. Add 2-3 dashes of Angostura bitters and a short splash of club soda. Crush sugar with a muddler and stir vigorously to dissolve the sugar and bitters. Add large ice cube and pour in rye.
Serve with a stirring rod and garnish with an orange peel.

What You Need:

Cracked Ice
2 oz London dry Gin (such as Beefeater)
1/2 dry vermouth
Green Olives

Mix It:

In a mixing glass or cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine gin and vermouth.
Stir well for about 20 seconds, then strain into a martini glass.
Garnish with a green olives and serve.

So there you have three Mad Men Classics. What do you think?
Are any of these on your Cocktail List? Or do you make a variation of one of these? Please share!
Cheers, my friends!

  2. What a cute idea for a post! I am always scared of these kinds of drinks because they're traditionally more "manly," but you make them sound so tempting. I think I'd give an Old Fashioned a try for sure. Thank you so much for linking up, friend!
