Monday Blues

Last week while in Florida, I dined at a restaurant that had the most beautiful blue ceiling.
I've wanted to paint our ceilings blue for as long as I can remember but just never got around to it.
In the South, we refer to this soft blue color as Haint Blue, and growing up in Savannah, I can tell you it's still a big part of our culture. Centuries ago Southerners painted their porches and ceilings this blue color to ward off evil spirits. Regardless of it's meaning, I'm in love with it and I've promised myself that I will have a Haint Blue ceiling sooner than later! Here's a little glimpse of my inspiration...

I mean, can you imagine waking up to this?

How soothing is this?

And this?

And I'm loving this kitchen for more reasons that just the gorgeous ceiling...

Loving this bathroom...

Southern porch...

This is right up my alley...

Do you love this color as much as I do?
Here's wishing you a fantastic Monday!

  3. I'm so glad I read this. Our front porch has a blue ceiling and I thought it was the weirdest thing when we were looking at our house. Now I understand it and I'm not in such a hurry to paint it white.
