It never fails...this time of year I'm always scouring the net and local shops for fresh new decor accessories to get our home in the spring spirit. I am officially craving color!

Random Wednesday

Happy Wednesday, loves! Well, here we are at Wednesday again and it's time for a little randomness. Let's get started, shall we? 

The first item on my list is Dallas. Are y'all watching? If not, you must! I thought last season was on fire but the season premiere on Monday night knocked my socks off. Double dealing business, steamy love triangles, lots of skeletons in the closets and thick Southern accents...it doesn't get better than that! If you aren't watching you are missing out (Do you hear that, Mama?) 

My mom is so far behind. She needs to catch up!

There's been a lot of talk circulating out here in the blogosphere about twitter's newest app...Vine. I did a little research and found out that this new app was released on Thursday and it's similar to instagram. Instead of sharing pictures, it's sharing six second videos. Being the social media nerd that I am, I went ahead and signed up. I don't have any videos to share yet but I figured I would go ahead and get set up. I still don't really know how to use it but I guess I will eventually get the hang of it.
What are your thoughts? Are you up for another social media platform?

How delicious does this creamy caprese dip look? Thanks to pinterest, I will be adding this to my "recipes to try" list. Maybe I will try it for this weekend's Super Bowl Party?

Remember last Wednesday when I told you how I accidentally washed a dry clean only skirt? Well, I'm happy to report that there was no damage done! I know you were concerned. ;)
I wore it yesterday and it fits just as it did before I subjected it to the washing machine.
Whew. Talk about a relief!

Target Finds

Happy Tuesday, Loves! Now that Monday is behind us, we are one step closer to the weekend and I couldn't be happier about that. After reading Shanna's Weekend Update post, I was 100% inspired to check out what is new at Target. Low and behold, I found some goodies...but I know you aren't surprised! I'm a push over for wedges (umm, I'm 5'4) and these come in a couple different colors.

I must admit, I often times forget about Target's softer side when I am mostly dashing in for laundry detergent and cleaning supplies. Whereas The Husband may think that's a good thing, I respectfully disagree. Target offers free shipping for orders over $50. I don't think I'll have a problem meeting that  minimum with all these great finds!

Weekend Update

Hey Friends! In the blink of an eye, the weekend came and went. So sad but hopefully this week will fly and another low key weekend will be on the horizon. This weekend was the first weekend in the new year that The Husband and I were in town and had nothing to do. We did a lot of nothing and it was glorious. No working, no commitments, just time together.
So what did we do? See the pics below for a glimpse of our weekend...

Friday night we grabbed a late dinner at one of our favorite Mexican restaurants. It was just what the doctor ordered after a long Friday!

My bow cuff showed up just in time for the weekend. Friday was a good mail day! 

Saturday we slept in, grabbed lunch at a favorite spot and then did a little shopping. We hit Ballard Designs, Room and Board and a few other local spots. Here are a few looks I'm crushing on...

Color is something we definitely need more of...

This chair doesn't go with anything in my house but I still love it! 

Saturday was another date night. Swoon! We started off by sampling this wine at home. It's a Bordeaux  blend and really earthy. The Husband liked it more than I did but it was still good. We looked it up and it's won a few awards. Definitely worth a try!

For dinner, we hit another favorite, JCT Kitchen. If you've been hanging around this blog for a while, you know how much we adore the Angry Mussels at JCT. They are ah-mazing!

After dinner, we popped in another favorite for an after dinner drink. I had wine and The Husband had an Old Fashioned. Can you tell we've been catching up on MadMen? 

I think it's his new drink of choice. Thank you, Don Draper. :)

Sunday we went to church, had lunch with friends and spent the rest of the 

afternoon grocery shopping and relaxing. It was nice to be home.

Fashion Friday : The Dynamic Duo

Happy Friday, Dolls! Ahhh, the weekend is finally here and I couldn't be happier about it. I've been traveling so much lately, it will be nice to have a weekend at home with no plans. I'm super excited about today's Fashion Friday theme, Black and White. You can never go wrong with this dynamic duo.  Here's the look I put together celebrating this classic color combo...

When I saw this dress, I instantly fell in love. Not only does it pair up fashion's most iconic color combination, it also features a popular trend that I also love : color blocking. With a flattering cut, this dress will look great on any body type and I may just have to make it mine. I seriously want this entire outfit! I paired this classic dress with peep toe pumps featuring perforated details, jewels from BaubleBar and Guess, along with a Tory Burch bag that I'm swooning for, FYI.
I don't know about you but I'll take it all!

Random Wednesday

Hi Friends! Well, I made it back from NYC and I gotta tell ya...I am exhausted, hence the tardiness of this post. Sorry about that! Anyway, it's Wednesday and you know what that means. Here's a little randomness from my life to yours...

My mom and I are practically the same person. She recently tried this mascara and decided it was Christmas gift worthy. I was so excited to open it especially with the ringing endorsement from her. I've tried it over the last few weeks and I love it! I totally recommend it if you are looking to try a new mascara. Already use it? What do you think? Love it? Hate it? Spill.

I've mentioned before how much I dislike the unpacking after a trip much more than the packing. This morning in my haste to get it over with, I accidentally washed one of my dry clean only Banana Republic skirts. I realized this silly mistake when I took it out of the washing machine. Thankfully, I didn't put it in the dryer. I laid it flat to dry on my drying rack. It doesn't look like it shrunk but time will tell. Anyone else have experience with this? Here's hoping I didn't ruin one of my fave skirts. :(

While in NYC, I looked high and low for a new cell phone case that I loved enough to splurge on. I have the iphone 4 and I prefer a silicone case. I haven't had much luck with the hardshell cases...they crack when you drop them, FYI. 

 Any suggestions on where I can find one that's fun for spring?

Although I've had a great time here in the Big Apple, I will bid farewell to the city that never sleeps this evening and part of me admits, it will be a good feeling when Delta touches down in Atlanta.
